games overload +__+

ok, as you know or may not know, i am waiting for work to start. but the grand question is, am i even hired??? when i asked liz this, she gave me an empty, hollow laughter... i suspect that something is amiss. i suspect something...

either way. so in the meantime, i am either writing stories or playing games. OH speaking of stories, one day i must confess what the hell i write. it took me great struggles before i decided to tell, because it will change your impressions of me forever. (k, like whatever. i already started writing about asses. what's new.) maybe stay tune to new blog post. LOL.

so yah, due to a recent poly friend's visit and my nature to nose around all kinds of odd things, i got myself involved in the following games:

+ Xenogears
+ Puzzle Quest (both English and Japanese version)
+ Devil May Cry 3 (quite old yeah?)
+ Chaos War
+ Star Ocean
+ Chrono Trigger

i really don't know how the hell i'm supposed to complete all the games. it took me literally years to complete a couple of RPGS (role-playing-games for you non-game-junkies). i swear i never expected myself to complete games like ff9, ff12, valkryie profile, odin sphere, arc the lad...but due to a new resolution, i have. and good God you won't know how ding doinged i felt when i finally completed Legend of Legaia, a game i couldn't go beyond the stupid Berserker on top of Jereme! or something like that.

for xenogears, i have finally come to the part that talks about Gates. wah. i didn't expect that Xenogears would be so full of twists and turns. but what at the least expected parts, it becomes boring. wah seriously.

ok. i played Chaos War only because i wanted to recruit Shadow Hearts II characters. but when i started to play it, i suspect a few things.
- no high budget
- written by a 14yr old
- a work rushed out for a deadline
- a game that's not worthy of the seiyuu work and the cooperation of so many comapnies
- screwed royally by the sound team
- pretty much a fan work (maybe a concoction done by residues/rejects of the respective companies)
the game would be much, much more bearable if only it was twice the speed... kanin-! characters talking irrelevant shit with some stupid girl called Rin going on and on about being interrupted and main character Hyoma acting cool but talks like a retard!? when can i get Yuri and party into my party??!!!!! am i...am i to bear with all that crap talk until i see you guys??? and when you guys come, are you going to emo about being interrupted?? haha.

you know how i play the game? i freaking muted the BGM and the gaming experience is now pretty unique, with only sound effects and talking voices. quite creepy.

why screwed sound. you see, some smart butt decided that each time it's your ally's turn, the music should change, and when it's the enemy's, it changes again, in fear you can't see it's your turn!!! and worse the enemy's songs are better than the ally's!!! thank the Lord for the existence of Japanese voice, because the english dub is downright dumb, feeble, unstable...it's just gay lah to summarise the whole thing. initially i didn't know there was Japanese voice so you know what i resorted to? muting the whole tv and reading the dialogue out loud myself. (i love playing texted RPG because it's very good basis for me to 1. learn jap if it's in jap 2. practising my voice acting. it's just a hobby of talking to myself, really)

and guess what!!! i dispatched Hiro and who's that, Hayatemaru to clean tables. you know what they came back with?? A FAILURE REPORT!! wah lao!! clean table also can screw up!! i am pwned to the buttcrack!! (luckily i didn't save data. you horrible asspits.)

and some idiot decided that a confusing beige and brown background would serve well to the visuals when you're trying to read brown text. brown on brown, isn't that highly intelligent, i was squinting my eyes and giving up because i didn't want to look like a diehard dumbass. and when i said, "k, time to go back to xenogears" Liz said, "i'm surprised you even got that far with that crap." oh really? maybe i should be surprised.

what else. hmm. DMC3's direction reminds me of MGS. in MGS1 it was quite normal. but by MGS3 it was all out spasticism. you get keroro frogs all over the place, a gay commander, crocodile heads as camouflage and Ape Escape apes running all over the place. maybe not as random as MGS3, but DMC3 certainly doesn't feel that connected to its predecessors. -.- lots of acting cool. oh Gawdy.

Star Ocean (First Departure) is unexpectedly a nice game to play so far. it feels like...hmm... Square games + Nintendo + Ragnarok Online -.- either way, it's pretty tragic but the main characters' english dubs are pathetic. and the character i like best, Ilia, has a very funny voice. she sounds like paramedic in MGS3, but when it's battle mode, her voice changes drastically and she becomes some siao charbo.

no progress for chrono trigger. too overwhelmed. LOL.

and finally, puzzle quest. i am an insane fanatic. i suspect it is the main source of my headaches. if you have read my crude translation of the japanese version, pleased to be telling you, my translation was more or less correct with slight variations (slight? oh really?). but not pleased to be telling you, the girl i married off is actually a potential party member and i sold her to barbarians. oh God. i set aside my lvl 49 data just to play all over again in the jap version to get her. how could i be so cruel. it's time to take my Jap seriously, if not i dunno what i'll be selling next time -.-

and just to let you in on a secret that is actually not a secret, i sleep at 4am every morning, and you know why??? because of puzzle quest!!! can't take my eyes off you!!!

a little addition to this already long post, i must say something about dubs. some games i play, though i can't remember most of them anymore, have the weirdest dubs ever. at the moment, i recommend Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, Chaos War, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 and Star Ocean for crap dubbing. Star Ocean isn't actually that bad, but if it wants to suck, it will. (I am happy one of the characters got petrified literally and he was effectively removed from the party. no more of his "I feel the power flowing in me!" enough cheese please wah lao. Thank God he's not an eye candy and his personality is even worse. the main character can unexpectedly sound like a complete moron.)

this is what i love most about Arc the Lad: "JUSTICE SHALL PREVAIL! JUSTICE WINS AGAIN! *picks items up* it's ours now. Do you think you could defeat ME?" ahhh beat it... wtf is this dialogue?!
